The Messerschmitt Tiger is a true
motoring legend , with 90 mph
from its 500cc 2-stroke twin
engine , but it wasn't made by
Messerschmitt and was never
marketed as a Tiger .
Although it shared many component parts with
the Messerschmitt KR 200 it was actually made
by Fahrzeug Machinenbau Regensburg and
so was produced with the "FMR" name .
And the model was named " Tg500" because
the "Tiger" name was owned by another
company .
MODEL DIMENSIONS approx 560 x 280 x 240mm ( approx 22" x 11" x 9" )
Due to the complex shape of the TG 500 it is not possible to mould a
one-piece body , and so this TMC model is produced in 5 separate sections
TMC have already used the new bodyshell to produce the first Radio-Controlled TG 500.
It was modelled on the real TG 500 owned by an English Microcar collector and painted
in the correct shade of metallic blue , just like the real one . It was supplied Ready-to-
Run , complete with all necessary batteries , charger and transmitter equipment .
Some more details of the "Presentation A " unpainted bodyshell are in the photos below ...
And finally
a "Tiger Tail"
was made
and added ,
just like
the real car .
Grrrrr ! !
When the TG's owner met Fritz Fend , the
car's designer signed the Tiger's body.
The model even reproduces the signature .
And here is the Model TG with body raised
and its Radio-Controlled chassis revealed.
Extra details
such as the
rear luggage rack
were made
and added to
complete the
personalisation
of this
"Made-to-Order"
finished model .
