BMW 600

TMC introduced this BMW 600 model to mark the car's 40th Anniversary

The paint colours were specially mixed
to exactly match the two tone paintwork of
the real car .

The bumpers were modified at the owners
request , and other details

added to match his full - size car .

This model was supplied to a German
enthusiast as a basic white gel bodyshell .

Its new owner painted it the yellow and black
colour scheme of ADAC , which is the German
equivalent of the UK's Automobile Association

The wheels are the standard moulded-in items ,
realistically painted .

It was part of a "Flight" of BMW 600s on display
at AUTOMUSEUM STORY , the World's largest
collection of bubblecars and microcars .

TMC made this Custom-built racy model for two
enthusiasts from Texas . Hi , y'all !

The owners supplied two photographs of their
real race-prepared BMW 600 and asked for a
model replica .

TMC copied and fitted the rear aerofoils , the
front air dam , the side skirts , the extended
wheelarches and other details , then installed
radio-control equipment and painted it just
like the real car , with BMW Martini striping .

The BMW company wanted to develop the recipe for success which the cheeky Isetta
had pioneered . They decided to keep the front-opening door theme , but wanted
more seats and more performance .

The BMW 600 which evolved had two doors .

One at the front , of course , and another on

the right-hand side giving access to a wide

rear bench seat which could accomodate

two extra passengers , three at a squeeze !

Again they developed and fitted one of
their reliable motorcycle engines , this
time a boxer twin with 600cc .

To keep within modest overall dimensions the car had minimal overhang at

front and rear and a conventional 4-wheel layout was adopted to increase

its carrying capacity and handle the increased weight and performance .
